The Balcones Country Club Women's Association (BCCWA) was founded in 2002 and had its first meeting in September of that year. A Women's Association for Balcones Country Club had been discussed for some time by many of the women members of the club. In response to this need, The Balcones Country Club Board of Directors asked Loretta Voss if she would serve as the first president and organize this group of women. The organization was formed to provide a social and networking opportunity for ALL members of the club, including those who do not participate in golf and tennis, providing informative programs and social events to promote fellowship among its members and the Balcones community. In 2004, the members of BCCWA decided that the organization should become more philanthropic and raise money for educational scholarships. This was the beginning of what has become our annual the Market Days fundraiser.

Mission:
"The purpose of the BCCWA is to promote and conserve the true spirit of fellowship, goodwill and charity, to further the education of deserving students in Round Rock Independent School District, employees of Balcones Country Club, and the children of Balcones Country Club employees, and to encourage participation in social activities among its members." |

In 2009, BCCWA created a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization - the Balcones Country Club Women's Association Scholarship Foundation (BCCWASF). This foundation was organized exclusively to provide college and vocational scholarships to deserving students in our community to help them continue their education. The BCCWASF Board of Trustees oversees the operation of the foundation and administration of the scholarship program. The first scholarship of $1,000 was awarded in 2004. As of May 2023, over $464,000 has been raised to fund scholarships for 213 students.
The BCCWA members work together all year to organize and host our annual Market Days, a two-day event held in October each year at Balcones Country Club for the sole purpose of raising money for the Scholarship Foundation. The event includes a Market of varied and unique merchandise provided by local vendors, Live and Silent Auctions of donated trips and activities, various items, as well as gift cards to local restaurants, a Pantry with delicious home-made baked goods, condiments and casseroles, a Raffle of luxury items, such as jewelry, electronics, and home items. It's gotten bigger and better every year. In the past few years, more than 1000 people attended!
In late 2014, we started a project to publish a cookbook of our members' favorite recipes. The BCCWA members shared their recipes and the Cookbook Committee invested many hours reviewing editing, typing and proofing the 350+ recipes to produce a quality cookbook. "Enchanting Temptations" was published in time to start selling at the 2015 Market Days event. All proceeds from the cookbook go to the BCCWA Scholarship Foundation. ,
In addition to Market Days, we have a raffle at our monthly events to raise additional funds. This, along with our Market Days event enabled us to have been able to award $36,000 to 18 deserving students - in 2023.
BCCWA members and their guests gather at BCC on the 3rd Thursday each month August through May at the BCC. for an entertaining and informative luncheon or dinner with a featured speaker or a purely Ladies Night Out social. The programs follow a social time and meal served by BCC. Special events normally include a Wine and Cheese Social at the club and a Holiday Brunch each year at member's home.
There are many reasons to join BCCWA. If you are new to Balcones CC or have been a member for a long time, it is a great opportunity to get to meet women from a variety of interests and experiences and make new friends. Our fundraising efforts help high school students with higher education. We are a fun group of women, and who wouldn’t want to be a part of the fun!!
Membership is open to all women BCC members. Dues are only $25/year and pay for the speakers and programs. The members pay for their own lunch served by the club.
